Second OW Bunker Vessel for Singapore
OW Bunker has launched a second supply vessel for its physical operation in Singapore, the company said today in an emailed press release.
Built in December 2011, the 6,963 dead-weight tonne (dwt) vessel, An Hong, has a capacity of 6,100 metric tonnes and pumping rates of up to 1,000 cubic meters per hour.
"We are pleased to be expanding our physical operation, which is testament to the positive response we have received from customers, who are looking for a high value fuel supply service in the market," said Paul Bradshaw, general manager of OW Bunker Asia.
"This means providing them with not just the best quality products, but efficiencies throughout the entire bunkering operation."
Bradshaw said the company provides a simplified ordering process and helps customers use appropriate fuel procurement strategies while allowing for fast deliveries.
OW bunker began trials of its Singapore physical operation in June, completing deliveries with the Nepamora and using a Coriolis Flow Meter to ensure accuracy of the quantity of fuel delivered.
Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) said last year it wants more bunker players to adopt mass flow meters for bunkering as part of measures to tackle the problem of so called "Cappuccino bunkers."
