26 Ships Banned From Fujairah
The Port of Fujairah has banned 26 ships for ignoring port rules and dropping anchors in a restricted area, Platts reports.
The United Arab Emirates port issued a notice last month banning 20 vessels and banned another six on Monday.
"These vessels were not following the port rules and had dropped anchors at a restricted area," said Captain Tamer Masoud, the Harbor Master of the Port of Fujairah.
"They had been warned before but still they have repeated it."
The banned vessels include VLCCs Star Light Venture, National, Maersk Eli, Amanos, La Paz, Ghazal, Ikomasan, F Whale, and A Elephant; Suezmax tanker Jiaolong Spirit; Aframax tankers Sea Lion, Al Buhairah and Four Island, Panamax tankers Bai Lu Zuo, Salamina, and Leader; LPG carriers Maharshi Mahatreya and Sunny Joy; product tankers Trader, Royal Queen, Alfa Karadeniz, and Elite; bulk carrier Iron Vassilis; general cargo ship Northern Diamond; and chemical tanker Doris Ruby.
The listed vessels are no longer allowed to call at the Port of Fujairah or Fujairah Offshore Anchorage, and ship owners will need to use other ships from their fleet at the port, Masoud said.
