Mixed Day for Bunker Price Movements in Europe

After yesterday's prices gains, it was a mixed day for bunker price movements in Europe and the wider EMEA region today. Ship & Bunker data showed key grade IFO380 in Algeciras, St Petersburg, and Hamburg all making gains today, while the product's average price in Rotterdam, Fujairah, Istanbul, and Piraeus fell.

Rotterdam IFO380 dropped for the first time since January 29, 2013 falling $0.50 to $637.00 per metric tonne (pmt), making a week-on-week gain of $18.50, and up $31.00 since January 7, 2013. Low sulfur 380 cSt product (LS380) was up $3.00 to $673.50 making the premium for the Emissions Control Area (ECA) compliant fuel $36.50 pmt. MGO was up $5.50 to $990.50 pmt, an increase of $30.00 since last Tuesday.

Fujairah IFO380 fell for the first time since January 28, 2013 dropping $2.00 to $644.00 pmt, an increase of $17.00 week-on-week, and $25.50 higher than this time last month. MGO in the port dropped $3.50 to $996.00 pmt, down $0.50 since last Tuesday, and a month-on-month loss of $9.00.

Istanbul IFO380 dropped $1.50 to $671.50 pmt, $17.50 higher than last Tuesday, and up $28.50 month-on-month. MGO in Istanbul moved down $5.00 to $1041.50 pmt, an increase of $18.50 since this time last week, and $50.00 higher than January 7, 2013.

Piraeus IFO380 moved down for the first time since January 29, 2013 slipping $5.50 to $654.00 pmt, $14.50 higher than last Tuesday, and up $28.00 month-on-month. LS380 fell $3.00 to $724.00 making the premium for the ECA compliant fuel $70.00 pmt. MGO was up for a fifth consecutive market day gaining $1.00 to $1018.50 pmt, $26.50 higher week-on-week.
