IFO Falls in North and Western Europe

North and Western Europe saw falling IFO prices in many ports on Friday, while Mediterranean and Black Sea bunker prices made small gains for all grades, Ship & Bunker data shows.

Rotterdam IFO380 moved down for the first time since December 13, 2012 slipping $3.00 to $583.50 per metric tonne (pmt), up $5.50 week-on-week, and falling $10.50 from last month. Low sulfur 380 cSt product (LS380) slipped $4.00 to $619.00 making the premium for the Emissions Control Area (ECA) compliant fuel $35.50 pmt. MGO climbed $6.50 to $932.00 pmt, rising $21.00 over the past week.

Fujairah IFO380 was up $1.00 to $606.00 pmt, making a $5.50 week-on-week gain, and $4.00 lower than the price on November 21, 2012. MGO moved up $1.50 to $1009.00 pmt, down $3.00 from last Friday, and dropping $11.50 from the previous month.

Istanbul IFO380 moved up for the first time since December 13, 2012 rising $12.00 to $619.50 pmt, up $1.50 from last Friday, and $0.50 higher than two weeks ago. MGO was up for a third consecutive day gaining $5.00 to $991.50 pmt, making a $13.00 week-on-week gain, and $7.50 lower than last month.

Piraeus IFO380 climbed for a fourth consecutive day up $2.00 to $604.50 pmt, $6.50 higher than last week, and $1.50 lower than last month. LS380 dropped $2.00 to $668.00 making the premium for the low sulfur grade $63.50 pmt. MGO was up for a seventh consecutive market day rising $4.00 to $965.50 pmt, ending the week $24.00 up on last week.
