Bunker Prices in Europe End Week with Small Gains
Ship & Bunker data showed bunker prices in the EMEA region were firm-to-steady as the week came to a close, with the gains seen in most ports remaining small.
Rotterdam IFO380 remained at $643.50 per metric tonne (pmt), ending the week $10.00 higher than last Friday, and up $36.50 since January 8, 2013. Low sulfur 380 cSt product (LS380) rose $3.50 to $684.50 making the premium for the Emissions Control Area (ECA) compliant fuel $41.00 pmt. MGO moved up $3.50 to $1003.00 pmt, $23.00 higher week-on-week.
Fujairah IFO380 was up for a third consecutive day rising $0.50 to $653.50 pmt, $8.00 higher than this time last week, and $33.50 higher month-on-month. MGO slipped $4.00 to $1002.00 pmt, an increase of $3.50 week-on-week, and down $3.50 since January 8, 2013.
Istanbul IFO380 rose for a second consecutive day up $0.50 to $669.00 pmt, an increase of $8.00 week-on-week, and $24.00 higher than this time last month. MGO was steady at $1051.50 pmt, $18.00 higher than last Friday, and up $55.00 month-on-month.
Piraeus IFO380 moved up for a third consecutive day rising $0.50 to $658.50 pmt, $6.50 higher than last Friday, and up $28.00 since January 8, 2013. LS380 moved up $4.00 to $745.00 making the premium for the low sulfur fuel $86.50 pmt. MGO climbed $1.00 to $1031.50 pmt, an increase of $23.50 week-on-week.
