Maker of Bunker Saving Air Lubrication System Rebrands
The maker of an air lubrication system designed to improve fuel efficiency by reducing friction is changing its name from DK Group to Silverstream Technologies, CEO Noah Silberschmidt announced in a statement on the company's website.
"In line with the advancements of the technology and the company over recent years, the time for a name change is right," Silberschmidt said.
"The rebranding to Silverstream represents the beginning of this exciting and defining time for us and Silverstream Air Lubrication Technology."
The air lubrication system promises to reduce fuel use and emissions by 5 to 10 percent by producing a stream of bubbles under the hull of a vessel, allowing for smoother movement against the water.
The company has been working with Lloyd's Register on tests of the system.
