Gazpromneft Marine Bunker Completes Expansion, Bunkering Upgrades at St. Petersburg Terminal
Gazpromneft Marine Bunker LLC (Gazpromneft) Wednesday announced that it has completed an upgrade project for the terminal at its Kirov plant in St. Petersburg, and has also extended the agreement on its operation of the complex until 2022.
Following dredging work, loading of bunker fuel ships will now be carried out at two reconstructed berths now capable of handling vessels with a draft up to 6.2 meters and length of up to 130 meters.
The project also saw expansion of the terminal's capacity by some 30 percent to 16,100 m3, thanks to the addition of 4,000 m3 in floating storage capacity.
The expansion also saw the creation of a pipeline system and bunker systems for the handling of fuels.
Andrei Vasilyev, General Director of Gazpromneft, says the terminal expansion is part of the company's development strategy, noting that the terminal's mondernisation and increased capacity will enable Gazpromneft to better serve the "strategically important" northwest region of Russia.
