Canadian Company Pushes Ahead on Patent Process for GHG Tracking System
Canada-based dynaCERT Inc. (dynaCERT) Thursday announced that it has filed a Provisional Patent Application in the U.S. for a greenhouse gas (GHG) tracking system intended for use by the marine sector, among others.
"Our system incorporates dynaCERT's proprietary technology which has been developed after years of extensive trials and research. dynaCERT now has the state-of-the-art capability to accurately track, measure and report on greenhouse gas emissions associated with many proponents operating in a diverse set of trades," explained the company.
Data collected with the system can be used to determine greenhouse gas credits or offsets, certifying carbon credits in a scientific manner, notes dynaCERT.
"Conservative systems used today for analysing and reporting greenhouse gas emissions characteristically rely on simply receiving emission related information from users," said dynaCERT.
"Consequently, the conventional systems are typically inaccurate and inefficient and often can not stand to audit nor reliability."
As Ship & Bunker has reported, emissions monitoring is a growing reality within the shipping industry to ensure compliance with tightening regulations.
