Dutch bank ING is pursuing a vessel through a U.S. court that it says owes OW Bunker $262,931.76 in unpaid fuel bills, legal paper Louisiana Record reports.

ING has filed a complaint against the M/V Nave Cosmos in U.S. District Court Eastern District of Louisiana.

According to the complaint, the Nave Cosmos took delivery of bunkers in October last year and was due to settle its bill by November 28, 2014.

The product tanker is said to have been supplied bunkers under a contract with OW Bunker to provide barging services.

OW Bunker filed for bankruptcy in the interim and the complains alleges that no payment has been forthcoming.

ING is understood to be seeking to enforce a lien it claims to have over OW Bunker assets, which it says extend to the title of the Nave Cosmos, since OW Bunker collapsed owing money to ING.

It is understood that ING is seeking damages of $347,872.17 in addition to other amounts such as interest on the outstanding bill.

Local law firm King, Krebs & Jurgens is representing ING.

In December, ING was said to be pursuing hundreds of companies directly over money owed to OW Bunker.

A number of shipowners which took delivery of bunkers prior to OW Bunker's collapse have looked to courts to direct them as to who to pay, fearing multiple claims for the same payment.
