New Brightoil Singapore CEO Confirmed

Brightoil Petroleum (Holdings) Limited has confirmed the appointment of Ex-Sinochem head Wang Wei as the CEO of its Singapore operations. 

Wang was formerly the managing director of Chinese state-run Sinochem's Singaporean unit, having worked in the oil and gas industry for over 28 years. 

With Brightoil, Wang take the reins of the company's international trading & bunkering arm, along with the rental and operation of Brightoil's oil storage facilities.

"Mr. Wang possesses a wealth of experience and has a proven track record of success in the energy sector," said Brightoil chairman Sit Kwong Lam, who stepped down as CEO of the wider company in July.

"We are confident that his appointment will be a catalyst to drive growth of the Group's International Trading & Bunkering business, and reinforcing our leadership in the market." 

Earlier this month Ship & Bunker reported Wang Wei's appointment in as part of a management reshuffle which led to the departures of two Singaporean senior heads of trading.
