A UK-based bunker tanker has received a series of repairs and hydraulic upgrades, local media reports.

Birkenhead marine hydraulics specialist V&A was said to have completed the work on the Whitaker Tankers' vessel Keewhit.

"A key part of the repair package included work to a blown out cylinder," V&A managing director Vic Seddo said.

"However, we were also able to provide expertise to repair a hydraulics motor on a deck crane used to lift fuel pipes, as well as the anchor windlass brake."

Keewhit is 2,130 dwt double-hulled bunker vessel, according to data from the supplier.

Elsewhere in the UK, in November last year Monjasa A/S began offering bunkering services at UK's Portland Port after taking over a terminal formerly belonging to Aegean Marine Petroleum.
