The U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) Sunday said that response by Unified Command is ongoing after the vessel Todd Brown sunk at mile marker 940 of the Mississippi River near Columbus, Kentucky, spilling approximately 100 gallons of diesel fuel.

SWS Enviromental Services is said to have contained and collected the spilled bunkers.

As Ship & Bunker reported last week, the vessel was said to have about 17,500 gallons of diesel fuel, 150 gallons of lube oil, and 150 gallons of hydraulic oil onboard.

A boom has been deployed to mitigate potential pollution, and SWS Environmental Services is on scene to monitor the situation.

USCG says the cause of the incident is under investigation.
