Spanish liquefied natural gas (LNG) system provider HAM Group and U.S.-based Taylor-Wharton Cryogenics LLC have joined forces to provide equipment, installation, construction, and service for LNG projects in North America, the companies have announced.

The partnership will focus particularly on bunkering and other high horsepower markets for the fuel.

"As LNG usage grows rapidly in North America, this agreement will help our LNG customers and especially new users to have the confidence that their installations will be trouble free," said Dave Barr, vice president and general manager of CryoLNG for Taylor-Wharton Cryogenics LLC.

"Taylor-Wharton has the experience in cryogenic equipment design and technology, and we have committed resources in manufacturing to meet the upcoming rapid demand curve."

Barr added that the HAM Group has extensive experience designing and building complete LNG systems.

"The new TW and HAM partnership will assure customers they will have on-time LNG system installations that perform at or above expectations."

HAM Group has built, installed, and serviced more than 300 LNG installations in Europe, the Caribbean, and South America, while Taylor-Wharton has developed large, economical vacuum insulated LNG tanks.

The boom in natural gas production from shale resources in North America is drawing growing interest from various energy industry players, including a new consortium announced this week to build LNG production plants in various U.S. locations.
