The Green Award Foundation today announced that the Korean Register has become the latest  member of the Green Award incentive programme.

The Korean Register will now offer Green Award certificate holders a 30 percent discount on subscriptions to KR CON, its database of International Maritime Organization (IMO) instruments, including conventions, codes, resolutions, and circulars.

"We are proud to offer KR-CON to Green Award certificate holders as an incentive and reward for more environmentally friendly operations," said Lee Jeong-kie, Chairman and CEO of Korean Register.

"This underlines KR's commitment to the protection of the natural environment. Our latest edition of KR-CON offers even better functionality and data access allowing users to quickly and accurately to find whatever information they need."

The Korean Register officially became a member of the Green Award network on September 13, 2017.

"On behalf of the Green Award Committee, I am honoured and delighted to welcome the Korean Register into the Green Award family," said Dr. Peter M Swift, a member of the Green Award Committee, at a formal ceremony in London.

"Green Award members are at the forefront of environmentally and socially sustainable shipping, showing leadership by pursuing core values of Corporate Social Responsibility in the maritime industry. Together we will continue our work to improve standards and to promote green shipping practices."

In July, Green Award announced that Danfoss IXA would also join Green Award’s network of incentive providers, offering a 5 percent discount to ocean-going and inland navigating ships on the company's marine emission sensor, MES1001.
