Bunker Prices in Europe End the Year Mixed

Bunker prices in North and Western Europe, and the Mediterranean and Black Sea ended the year mixed, although data from Ship & Bunker showed benchmark grade IFO380 was down in a number of key ports within the EMEA region.

Rotterdam IFO380 moved down $2.50 to $586.50 per metric tonne (pmt), making a $4.50 week-on-week gain, and ending the month $1.50 higher month-on-month. Low sulfur 380 cSt product (LS380) fell $4.50 to $619.00 making the premium for the Emissions Control Area (ECA) compliant fuel $32.50 pmt. MGO was up $1.00 to $935.50 pmt, $4.50 up since November 30, 2012.

Fujairah IFO380 fell for a second consecutive market day, down $2.00 today to $604.50 pmt which was the same price as last week, and $1.50 higher than one month ago. MGO in the port moved up $0.50 to $1006.00 pmt, down $2.00 week-on-week, and $12.50 lower than last month.

Istanbul IFO380 was down $3.50 to $619.00 pmt, a $-0.50 change from last week, and $50.00 lower than three months ago. MGO in Istanbul was unchanged at $993.50 pmt, up $2.00 week-on-week, and $7.00 lower than November 30, 2012.

Piraeus IFO380 moved down $1.00 to $602.50 pmt, up $0.50 from last Monday, and $2.00 higher month-on-month. LS380 was steady at $657.50 making the premium for the low sulfur fuel $55.00 pmt. MGO fell $2.50 to $962.50 pmt, falling $6.50 over the last month.
