Hamina LNG Issues Tender for Terminal Construction, Including Bunkering Facilities

Hamina LNG Oy (Hamina LNG) has issued an international tender for the construction of a liquefied natural gas (LNG) import terminal in the Port of Hamina, Finland, which will include bunkering facilities, LNG World News reports.

Hamina LNG, a joint venture between Haminan Energia Oy (Haminan Energia) and Alexela Group OÜ (Alexela), plans to build the small-scale import terminal in order to receive LNG tankers up to 25,000 cubic metres (cbm).

The terminal will also provide regasification possibilities for low and high-pressure grid, truck loading facilities, and bunkering facilities.

Tender documents indicate that the facility's engineering, procurement, construction are valued at €65 million ($72.41 million), with company bid submissions accepted until October 14.

The engineering, procurement, construction are said to be set to start on November 1 and run until the end of 2019.

In March, Ship & Bunker reported that the European Commission (EC) had approved Finnish plans to grant €28 million ($31.5 million) for the construction of the LNG terminal.
