More Gains for Europe, Middle East, Africa Bunker Prices

Bunker prices in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa made gains today, with Ship & Bunker data showing there was only a few ports that saw a price dip today. Jeddah was the only port which saw all grades priced lower today, slipping $10.00 per metric tonne (pmt) for all products.

Rotterdam IFO380 rose $6.00 to $643.50 pmt, a week-on-week gain of $16.50, and $37.50 higher than January 7, 2013. Low sulfur 380 cSt product (LS380) rose $2.50 to $681.00 making the premium for the Emissions Control Area (ECA) compliant fuel $37.50 pmt. MGO was up $7.50 to $999.50 pmt, up $16.00 since last Thursday.

Fujairah IFO380 was up $5.00 to $653.00 pmt, an increase of $17.50 week-on-week, and $34.50 higher than this time last month. MGO rose $8.50 to $1006.00 pmt, the grade's highest single increase since September 17, 2012 making the price $9.00 higher than this time last week.

Istanbul IFO380 saw little change and moved up $0.50 to $668.50 pmt, $12.00 higher week-on-week, and up $25.50 month-on-month. MGO in the port was up $3.00 to $1051.50 pmt, $16.50 higher than this time last week, and up $60.00 month-on-month.

Piraeus IFO380 moved up $1.00 to $658.00 pmt, gaining $13.00 since last Thursday, and up $32.00 month-on-month. LS380 rose $6.50 to $741.00 making the premium for the low sulfur grade $83.00 pmt. MGO in Piraeus climbed for a seventh consecutive market day up $4.50 to $1030.50 pmt, an increase of $25.50 week-on-week.
