Krasnoyarsk to Develop New Russian Bunkering and Storage Complex at Kamchatka
Kamchatka Territory Government in Russia says that the Far East Development Corporation JSC and Krasnoyarsk LLC (Krasnoyarsk) have signed an agreement to develop an 18,000 tonne capacity oil product storage and bunkering complex in Kamchatka, Port News reports.
The project, which will be implemented in two years, is said to be part of a priority socio-economic development project (PDA) and represents a RUB 280 million ($3.65 million) investment by Krasnoyarsk.
The complex is expected to bring about RUB 900 million ($11.75 million) in tax payments in the 10 years from its commissioning, and is anticipated to create 30 jobs.
Dmitry Korostelev, Deputy Minister for Economic Development of the Kamchatka Territory, says the organisation has received a further 12 applications for other possible PDA projects in the region, representing about RUB 18 billion ($235 million), with a further 10 project initiators expected to submit documents in the near future.
In October, Ship & Bunker reported that a policy shift resulting from order number 68 issued by Russia's Ministry of Transport could signal a "new age" for the Russian Far East bunker market.
