Slight Gains for Europe's Bunker Prices
Ship & Bunker data showed European bunker prices making mostly small gains today, although some ports, such as Istanbul, saw prices dip. The gains follow a soft day for prices yesterday, keeping prices in the region fairly steady overall.
Rotterdam IFO380 rose $1.50 to $616.00 per metric tonne (pmt), up $7.50 week-on-week, and $34.00 higher than December 24, 2012. Low sulfur 380 cSt product (LS380) moved up $3.50 to $648.50 making the premium for the Emissions Control Area (ECA) compliant fuel $32.50 pmt. MGO was up for a third consecutive day rising $5.50 to $957.00 pmt, an increase of $17.50 since last Thursday.
Fujairah IFO380 rose $2.50 to $622.50 pmt, $3.00 higher compared to this time last week, and up $18.00 month-on-month. MGO was down $0.50 to $996.00 pmt, down $3.50 since last Thursday, and a loss of $12.00 since December 24, 2012.
Istanbul IFO380 fell for a third consecutive day down $2.50 to $651.00 pmt, an increase of $2.00 week-on-week, and up $31.50 month-on-month. MGO dropped $3.50 to $1021.50 pmt, adding $6.50 to last Thursday's price, and a change of $+30.00 since December 24, 2012.
Piraeus IFO380 rose $0.50 to $635.50 pmt, up $0.50 week-on-week, and an increase of $33.50 month-on-month. LS380 dropped $1.00 to $710.00 making the premium for the low sulfur product $74.50 pmt. MGO moved up $0.50 to $993.00 pmt, $6.00 higher week-on-week.
