Cockett Marine Oil today announced that Cem Saral will replace Karl Beeson as Group Chief Executive Officer effective September 1, 2016.

Beeson has decided to step down after eight years in the role, Cockett said.

"We thank Karl for his outstanding contribution to the group and the profitable growth achieved during his tenure," said Steve Brann and Murray Paul Grindrod, representing the group shareholders.

"Cem's appointment illustrates our commitment to building Cockett into a leading integrated provider of fuel products and services globally. We wish him all the best in the role."

Saral, currently Group Chief Operating Officer, joined Cockett Marine Oil in March last year, transitioning in from the fuel oil trading team at Cockett's 50 percent shareholder Vitol.

"I am looking forward to building on Karl's hard work and leading the group through this next exciting phase in its development," he said.
