IBIA and UK Chamber of Shipping Forum to Focus on Preparations for 2020

The International Bunker Industry Association (IBIA) has announced that, along with the UK Chamber of Shipping, it will host a forum on April 19, 2017 that will explore how the industry is preparing for the 0.50 percent sulfur limit in 2020.

The event agenda will include a regulatory update at the levels of the International Maritime Organization (IMO), the European Union (EU), and United Kingdom (UK), as well as lessons learned relating to fuel quality, new fuels, and the ISO standard

The agenda also sets out discussion on refinery and supplier perspectives on meeting 2020 demand, as well as experience with alternative options such as scrubbers, liquefied natural gas (LNG), and methanol.

The event will be held from 8:30 am onwards on April 19 at the UK Chamber of Shipping at 30 Park Street, London.
