China-based Sinoriches Enterprises Co., Ltd. (SinoRiches) is facing a total $1.71 million in claims in U.S. courts from bunker supplier Toyota Tsusho Petroleum Pte Ltd. (Toyota Tsusho) and shipowner Efnav Company Ltd. (Efnav), TradeWinds reports.

Toyota Tsusho has filed a asset-seizure lawsuit related for $506,000 in unpaid costs, believed to be owed by a sub-charterer of the Sinoriches-operated vessel, Kiran Istanbul.

Specifically, the claim, filed in a New York court, alleges that Sinoriches failed to pay for the supply of 1,040 tonnes of bunkers delivered to the vessel in January.

The vessel, which is reported to be owned by Turkey's Pasifik Gemi Isletmeciligi ve Ticaret A.S. (Pasifik Gemi Isletmeciligi), was on charter to SinoRiches at the bunkers were supplied.

Sources have told TradeWinds that possible further plaintiffs are currently evaluating claims against SinoRiches.
