Another Supplier Exits Singapore Bunker Market
UPDATE: Clarified the number of MPA licensed bunker suppliers
Noble Group Ltd subsidiary Noble Resources International Pte Ltd on Thursday looks to have become the latest player to exit the Singapore bunker market after the company was dropped from the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA)'s official list of accredited bunker suppliers.
There is little information regarding the circumstances of the exit, with Noble so far declining to comment on the matter.
MPA, who have typically made a statement in the event a licence is canceled or declined for renewal, have also not commented on the matter.
However Platts reported that there had been speculation by market sources that the company has been inactive in the fuel oil and bunker fuel trading markets "for months."
Noble's exit from the market means there are now a total of 68 accredited bunker suppliers in Singapore, 67 of which can supply all grades of marine fuel, and 1 who is licensed to supply MGO only.
