ClassNK Consulting Service Launches New EU MRV Monitoring Plan Support
ClassNK Consulting Service Co., Ltd (NKCS) today announced that it has launched a new support service to help ship owners establish a Monitoring Plan (MP) for compliance with the European Union (EU) Monitoring, Reporting and Verification (MRV) regulation.
As Ship & Bunker has reported, the MRV regulation requires shipping companies to submit ship-specific monitoring plans to verifiers for approval by the end of August 2017, with per-voyage monitoring set to start on January 1, 2018.
"ClassNK Consulting Service offers a support service for setting up an MP for EU MRV, including providing a standard form, guidance and necessary advice to set up an MP for the purpose of supporting customers to obtain verification and facilitate a smooth implementation," explained NKCS.
Earlier this month, Ship & Bunker reported that Weathernews Inc. (Weathernews) and Nippon Kaiji Kyokai (ClassNK) welcomed more than 100 shipping personalities to their first joint seminar on the EU MRVregulation, which was held on 27 April.
