Stena Bulk AB (Stena Bulk) says a naming ceremony was held at the Guangzhou Shipbuilding International (GSI) shipyard in China for two of Stena Bulk's fuel efficient newbuilds, now known as Stena Imperator and Stena Imprimis.

The two vessels are the 11th and 12th in a series of 13 identical IMOIIMAX tankers, all ordered by Stena Bulk.

"IMOIIMAX is a further development of an already well-established concept and the innovative technical design was developed by Stena Teknik together with the Chinese shipyard GSI," explained Stena Bulk.

"It offers several advantages such as extra large cargo flexibility, a high level of safety and economical fuel consumption – 10-20 percent lower than that of equivalent vessels when sailing at service speed."

The 13th and last vessel in the IMOIIMAX tanker series is set to be delivered to Stena Bulk in January of next year.
