Birgit Liodden, Director of Nor-Shipping, says Nor-Shipping 2017 will foster necessary cross-industry collaboration toward the adoption of clean maritime fuels.

"SEA\LNG, like Nor-Shipping, involves participants that span the entire shipping value chain," explained Liodden.

"This is the only way to effect real, widespread change. The transition to clean fuels cannot be achieved by companies working in isolation. We need to come together, create solutions that consider and encourage all stakeholders, and commit to change."

The week-long event will take place across a series of venues in Oslo and Lillestrøm from May 30 to June 2, and will be attended by a number of players within liquefied natural gas (LNG), battery technologies, hydrogen, and wider energy industries.

The event is set to focus discussion on the opportunities and challenges posed by the adoption of next generation energy solutions.

"This is an incredible opportunity for our delegates, and the wider industry, to not only take the pulse of the clean energy movement, but also witness the strategies, partnerships, and projects that will drive it forward," said Liodden.

"Clean maritime fuels are the future and we, at Nor-Shipping, want to play our part in realising their huge potential."

In January, SEA\LNG said a collaborative approach to understanding the opportunities and addressing associated commercial barriers to LNG is "crucial" to encouraging the adoption of the fuel as an alternative to traditional bunker fuels.
