Nippon Yusen Kabushiki Kaisha (NYK) today announced that NYK and Kyushu Electric Power Co. Inc. (Kyushu) have agreed to partner in various fields, including liquefied natural gas (LNG) transport, and will consider the feasibility of cooperation in complementary businesses, such as LNG bunkering.

"This agreement is based on the trusting relationship that both companies have built in the energy transport field over the years," said NYK.

As Ship & Bunker has reported, NYK is already part of Gas4Sea, the ENGIE, Mitsubishi, and NYK joint LNG bunkering venture, which is intended to promote the development of LNG as a marine fuel.
