Marine fuel supplier Bomin Group (Bomin) said today it has expanded its Mediterranean operations to include supply in the Spanish ports of Alicante and Castellon.

Bomin said in July 2011 it started a shore based physical supply operation in Valencia, 180 km to the North of Alicante, 75 km South of Castellon, and holds a license for supplies both inside the port and at anchorage.

Supply in Valencia and Sagunto, 30 km to the North, is made by barge which has a capacity of up to 2,700 metric tonnes (mt) of IFO380 and approximately 350 mt of gasoil, although for safety reasons maximum supply volumes in Sagunto are 1,900 mt of fuel oil and 230 mt of gasoil.

Supply of 0.10% sulfur gasoil is also available ex-truck in Castellon, with Bomin saying it can also provide ex-pipeline supply to tankers operating at the TEPSA Terminal in Valencia, which it also has a long term storage agreement at.

In June 2012 Mabanaft GmbH & Co KG completed their acquisition of the Bominflot Group and merged its bunkering activities with those of Matrix Marine Fuels, the existing bunkering subsidiary of the Mabanaft Group, to form the Bomin Group.
