Global bunker prices continued on a downward trend Wednesday, and Ship & Bunker data shows that over the last two weeks, many key ports have seen a reversal of the price gains made earlier in the month.

Falling prices across Asia were typically in the $3.00 to $5.00 per metric tonne (pmt) range for key grade IFO380 in East, and South East Asia, but larger drops were seen in South Asia, with the grade falling as much as $25.00 pmt in India.

Singapore IFO380 fell $2.00 to $634.00 pmt for a month-on-month change of $+5.00, while a fall of $1.00 to $729.50 for low sulfur 380 cSt product (LS380) put the premium for the Emissions Control Area (ECA) compliant fuel at $95.50 pmt. MGO was down $6.50 to $972.50 pmt.

In the EMEA region, European IFO grade bunkers fell between $3.00 and $7.00 pmt, with Rotterdam IFO380 falling $3.50 to $615.50 pmt for a month-on-month change of -3.50. LS380 moved down $1.50 to $650.50 making the premium for the low sulfur fuel $35.00 pmt. MGO moved down $9.50 to $952.00 pmt.

Fujairah IFO380 moved down $4.00 to $646.00 pmt for a month-on-month change of $20.50, while MGO remained steady at $1011.50 pmt.

Rising IFO380 prices in Venezuela were the exception to otherwise falling prices across the Americas.

Houston IFO380 was down $4.50 to $625.00 pmt for a month-on-month change of $-9.50. LS380 fell $5.00 to $723.50 making the premium for the low sulfur product $98.50 pmt, and MGO fell $7.00 to $1037.50 pmt.
