Liquified natural gas (LNG) bunker company Titan LNG has bunkered the Wes Amelie at Rotterdam using a 'fast bunkering' procedure.

The box ship, which is retrofitted to handle LNG bunker fuel, was bunkered using six trucks with two discharging at the same time.

"This resulted in reduced downtime for the vessel," Titan LNG said in a statement.

Approval for the operation in the Prins Willem Alexanderhaven came after constructive discussions with all stakeholders under supervision of the Port of Rotterdam.

"Titan LNG successfully illustrated its ability to safely and with zero-venting of methane deliver the LNG with its transfer system that enables two truck to discharge via one bunkering hose," according to the company.
