Bad weather is currently preventing response crews from debunkering a grounded cargo ship in Greece, local media reports.

As Ship & Bunker reported earlier in the week, Greek authorities were responding to pollution after the 5,553 DWT general cargo ship, Cabrera, ran aground on Andros' rocky north coast early Saturday morning during intense wind, rain, and poor visibility.

Response crews are said to be using absorbent dams in an effort to soak up and prevent the pollution from spreading.

Weather is also reported to have prevented divers conducting surveys on the vessel's hull.

Three tugs are said to be present on site to continue response efforts.
