Bunkering at the Port of Pireaus could be affected after the Panhellenic Seafarers' Federation Monday announced that Greek seafarers will be staging a strike across the country from Tuesday at 6 a.m. to Thursday at 6 a.m. local time, Platts reports.

However, sources say the announcement did not significantly affect availability or barging operations Monday.

"There was a small break in between [strikes] and barges loaded," a trader told Platts.

"[This resulted in] only minor disruptions that didn't really create any congestion or delays."

In addition to the Seafarers' Federation announcement, the Greek Dockworkers' Union says the Port of Piraeus is also set to see further strike action, which will involve local ferries, beginning Thursday at 11 a.m.

Last week, Ship & Bunker reported that Piraeus would be subject to 48-hours of strike action, which began Friday morning at 6 a.m. and lasted until Sunday morning.
